The Indigo/Atauro Friendship Committee (IAFC) and the Friends of Atauro, known since 2020 as Indigo Shire Atauro Island Friendship Inc., have supported a number of formal projects on Atauro Island. These have usually been in partnership with an Atauro community organisation Roman Luan or a Timor Leste non-government organisation (NGO) such as HIAM Health.
